OBJECTIVE Under the general supervision of the Department Director, the Food Service Clerk performs various responsible secretarial and routine duties supporting the Department. As the Food Service Clerk supporting the Director, you will perform various clerical duties to help keep the office running smoothly. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to efficiency, communication with personnel, both internal and external, answering the telephone, and being a team player who can perform well while juggling multiple tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists the Department Director in managing the food service operations.
- Assists the Department Director with internal and external program compliance regulations, including updating policies and procedures for daily, monthly, and yearly operations.
- Perform various duties using a computer in daily work activities and update and maintain various records and reports.
- Obtain information to respond to requests by reviewing files, documents, and records.
- Take inventory and order materials, supplies, and services as needed.
- Answer and direct telephone calls.
- Take accurate messages.
- Communicate with faculty and staff and assist as needed.
- Maintain updated systems for filing, inventory, mailing, and databases.
- Handle incoming and outgoing office correspondence.
- Type, format, proofread, and edit documents as the Department Director needs.
- Maintain overall office organization and reception area daily.
- Set up meetings in a private office upon request.
- Make the required copies to prepare for meetings and additional requests.
- Maintain confidentiality without exception.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED
- Texas Food Handlers Certification
- Work independently, be a self-starter, handle frequent interruptions.
