AAMA's George Sanchez Charter School System is recruiting for a Food Service Worker for our Child Nutrition Program. You will work as part of a team in a busy cafeteria serving middle and high school students. Duties include prepping and cooking appetizing meals and snacks in a safe and efficient manner, cleaning and doing any paperwork and supply ordering as requested or required.
George I. Sanchez, founded in 1973 and chartered in 1996, serves approximately 800 6th- 12th graders, most of whom are Hispanic.
Programs include early college and dual-credit courses, tutoring, ESL and LEP instruction, after-school programs, recovery and counseling, Pre-k, parenting classes and nationally accredited childcare for students who have children. In addition, we offer smaller class sizes and individualized instruction designed to help our students succeed.
Qualifications for this postion include: high school diploma or equivalent. Appropriate food handler and food safety certificates and previous experience working in a food services environment, preferably in a school or other cafeteria environment. Abilty to professionally interact and communicate with students and others. Abilty to safely handle food and respond to emergencies.
