OBJECTIVE

Childcare workers are responsible for providing care and supervision for children in a safe and nurturing environment. They should be able to plan and implement age-appropriate activities, maintain a clean and organized environment, and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues. Childcare workers must have a passion for working with children and the ability to handle challenging situations with patience and compassion. They should also have a basic understanding of child development and be able to identify and respond to the individual needs of each child in their care. This entry-level position requires high energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. The Child Care Worker provides care and supervision for children in a safe and healthy environment. In this position, you will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, maintaining records of children’s progress, and communicating with parents about their child’s development. You will also be expected to ensure the safety and well being of all children in your care.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience in childcare or related field.

Ability to pass a background check.

Ability to pass drug test.

Experience caring for children in a group setting, 3 years and up.

 

REQUIRED PERSONAL SKILLS

A warm, calm, patient, and caring approach when interacting with young children.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work well in a team environment.

Physical ability to lift and carry children and equipment.

Certification in CPR and first aid.

Knowledge of child development and behavior management techniques.

Ability to plan and implement age-appropriate activities.

Experience with diverse populations and cultural sensitivity.

Ability to maintain a safe and healthy environment for children.

Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Supervise and monitor the safety of children in your care.

Prepare and organize activities to keep children engaged and stimulated.

Assist children with daily tasks such as dressing, toileting, and eating.

Communicate with parents or guardians about their child’s progress and behavior.

Maintain a clean and organized environment for the children.

Administer first aid and medication as needed.

Ensure that all policies and procedures are followed to maintain a safe and healthy environment.

Attend training and workshops to stay current on best childcare practices.

Provide care and supervision for children in a safe and healthy environment.

Responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate activities.

Maintain records of children’s progress.

Communicate with parents about their child’s development.

Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care.

Responding to the physical and emotional needs of the young children

Supervising and playing with the children.

Light housekeeping.

Maintaining accurate attendance records.
