OBJECTIVE

A volunteer’s responsibilities include completing tasks assigned to them in support of George I. Sanchez Charter School’s high standards and values. In addition to assigned tasks, the volunteer is expected to demonstrate professionalism, arrive on time, and follow instructions.

 

Through a volunteer's impact, students learn responsibility, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. These skills are invaluable not only in their academic pursuits but also in their future professional lives. Developing these skills as early as possible is vital for personal growth.

 

Some of a volunteer's duties might involve monitoring exercises, organizing events, preparing materials, helping with classroom setup, cleaning up after an activity, or working jointly with a volunteer team.

When volunteers are on duty, the district requests that their dress conform to the teacher’s dress code.

 

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES

All Volunteers will be required to complete a Background Check and Drug Test.

Volunteers will check in at the front desk upon arrival at the school. This record allows the school to know who is in the building.

Volunteers will wear name badges provided by the school as a security measure and as recognition of its value on its volunteers.

Volunteers will learn campus procedures and follow them.

  • Distribute classroom materials to students needed for activities.

  • Communication, coordination, collaboration, and cooperation.
  • A good volunteer is consistent, dependable, interested in making a difference, respectful and appreciative of teachers and students, and faithful to commitments.
  • Volunteers are role models for students in behavior, speech, and dress.

 

PROFESSIONALISM

  • To be punctual and be available during official working hours.
  • To comply with AAMA policies, standards, rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • To take precautions to protect equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • To participate responsibly in the school’s improvement initiatives.
  • To demonstrate timeliness and attendance for assigned responsibilities.
  • To work collaboratively with other professionals and staff.
  • To provide and accept evaluative feedback professionally.
  • Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about school personnel.

PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Familiar with the basic functions of a computer.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Previous volunteer experience within a school setting.
