1. Ability to read, write and follow oral and/or written instructions.
  2. Maintenance Electrician License and Specialty license (i.e. HVAC) preferred
  3. Two or more years experience in general building maintenance functions
  4. Valid Texas Drivers License in good standing

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Performs a variety of routine servicing/repair operations to maintain buildings, equipment, furnishing, fixtures and grounds in proper condition as directed in a timely and accurate manner.

2. Performs urgent, corrective, routine and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems as required; performs preventative maintenance on equipment and physical structures as required, maintaining related records.

3. Maintains and repairs HV/AC controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas.

4. Ensures safety of students, clients and others. Adheres to AAMA policies, procedures, and standards, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice.

5. Keeps supervisor informed on status of work projects and any problems that arise during the course of work.

6. Keeps all vehicle license registration and state inspections current.

7. Makes all necessary repairs, as assigned, prior to audits and inspections by funding sources.

8. Unlocks and locks buildings as required.

9. Periodically checks, as directed, life safety equipment to ensure compliance with state and local regulations and funding sources.

10. Makes deliveries and picks up maintenance parts and donations and supplies as needed.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical ability to do the work safely as described. Ability to read and interpret and follow written and verbal commands. Ability to communicate effectively with different people. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and work under deadlines. Manual dexterity and hand eye coordination to use tools and other maintenance equipment in the performance of the job. Frequent standing, climbing, twisting, turning, lifting, walking and working with tools. Driving.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

Inside and outside depending on maintenance needs. May be exposed to hot and cold temperatures and bad weather conditions and maintenance or cleaning chemicals.
