BASIC FUNCTION: Assist in Supervising and maintaining daily operations for the Early Childhood program from 6 weeks to 10 years of age. Ensure all students achieve quality care and excellent learning. Will work collaboratively to support the staff, possess excellent communication skills to effectively work with employees, parents, colleagues and community stakeholders.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Child Development Associate (CDA) Preferred
  2. At least 4 years of teaching experience with previous childcare experience preferred
  3. Bilingual in Spanish (Preferred)
  4. Valid First Aide and CPR
  5. Valid Texas Driver’s License in good standing
  6. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of early childhood education, curriculum development and program evaluation; child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and research related to learning of young children.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  1. Works collaboratively with AAMA’s partners, national, state and local member
  2. Works collaboratively with staff to plan, implement and evaluate curriculum on a regular
  3. Ensures activities meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the
  4. Provides resources and materials to support teaching staff in accomplishing instructional
  5. Fosters team building and encourages employee active involvement in decision
  6. Facilitates effective and timely resolution of
  7. Complete all program reports as assigned by director
  8. Confers with staff regarding their professional growth and works collaboratively with director to develop and accomplish goals.
  9. Manages the use of progam facilities to ensure a clean, orderly, visually appealing and safe program at all times.
  10. Ensures that program rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is equitable and

 

  1. Conducts conferences with parents, students and teachers on school and student
  2. Complies with all AAMA and Sanchez Charter School policies, state and federal laws and ethical standards as stated by the Texas Education Follows state regulations on reporting child abuse, neglect or exploitation.
  3. Follow NAECY standards
  4. Full participation of the United Way Bright Beginnings Program. If assigned to a UWBB Coach AD must sign a contract, as well as work with coach on all recommendations
  5. Clearly and effectively communicates in a manner that children

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Must be able to take precautions to ensure the safety and health of all children and themselves. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and think and act clearly in emergency or emotional situations.

Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time. Ability to effectively communicate with children and parents. Ability to react to emergency situations quickly including using CPR or First Aid. Ability to read and write professional reports and analyze data. Ability to lift and carry children ages infant to 10 years old.
