Basic Function and Scope: The Work and Learn Center is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual who is passionate about youth development, graphic arts and business development. The idea candidate will provide young adult learners ages 16-24 with appropriate curriculum, projects and experiences in an engaging atmosphere designed to support and prepare students in obtaining their Adobe Photoshop Certification.  The idea candidate will enable students to develop competencies and basic skills to create a digital portfolio, website development and design projects. This person will support the Social Enterprise Youth Ambassador (SEYA) program in design projects as needed. The Work and Learn Center Graphic Arts Specialist will facilitate additional supportive programs as directed/needed such as the career readiness program, production and printing, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 2 years of graphic design/arts freelance work or equivalent experience
  2. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  3. Advanced knowledge of design curriculum and Adobe Photoshop
  4. Ability to facilitate high school and community students ages 16-24 workshops and positively influence their behavior
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups of people
  6. Strong oral and written communication skills with good presentation skills
  7. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, Canva Pro, and basic web development software
  8. Proficient knowledge of marketing, branding and social media management
  9. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, Sanchez Charter School, students, clients/customers, social service providers and community key stakeholders.
  10. Ability to connect and engage positively with young people

Major Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Teaches, enhances, develops and implements curriculum to support students in obtaining an Adobe Photoshop Certification after the completion of course.
  2. Ability to facilitate additional supportive programs as needed for the elevation of the Work and Learn Center program including but not limited to career readiness information, entrepreneurship, etc.
  3. With guidance from the Work and earn Center Director, supports the Social Enterprise Youth Ambassadors (SEYA) projects, client interaction and business deliverables as needed.
  4. Compiles, maintains, reports all data collection and documents for the Work and Learn Center in a timely manner.
  5. Uses effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly to supervisor, colleagues, students, partners and the community.
  6. Previous experience in graphic arts, social media marketing and working with clients.
  7. Ability to serve and work with young people from diverse communities.
  8. Excellent time management organizational skills to support a growing and innovative program.
  9. Ability to create a safe space and student-focused learning environment.

Salary:

$25-35/ hour DOE This position is part-time and the weekly hours are 25-29 hours/week between the hours of 8:00-5:00 PM.
