OBJECTIVE:

CTE teachers help students explore and prepare for careers or technical occupations. They use various teaching methods to help students learn and develop skills related to a specific occupation or career. They demonstrate tasks, techniques, and tools used in an occupation.

 

Each CTE teacher prepares unit and lesson plans aligned with CTE content standards, including outcomes-based goals and objectives, instructional strategies that engage students in learning, safety considerations, industry-standard materials and equipment, and appropriate student assessment techniques.

 

CTE provides students with career and academic skills, as well as the soft skills needed for the modern workplace, including critical thinking, communication, teamwork, citizenship, integrity, ethical leadership, research tools, creativity, and innovation.

 

*This position will participate in activities beyond the school day, such as faculty meetings, campus event nights, before-school or after-school tutorials, etc.
